Region, Race and Memory: Inheriting the Civil War

Location:
Smyrna

Our third Conversations Bureau selection of 2013 is set for May 6th at 6:00 pm in Smyrna, TN, hosted by the Sam Davis Home and Museum. Region, Race and Memory: Inheriting the Civil War will be led by Dr. Michael Bertrand, TSU, and will explore factors that shape our shared and disparate stories of the Civil War. Writings by Robert Penn Warren and Ta-Nehisi Coates will be provided to participants and serve as a springboard for discussion.

The Bureau consists of a selection of four, ninety-minute conversations that compel participants to consider issues of race and equality since the United States Civil War, and is part of our Civil War, Civil Rights, Civil Discourse programming. Find out more about the Conversations Bureau.
