R.B. Morris

 is a published poet and playwright and a renowned songwriter, recording artist, and performer. In June of 2016, Morris was awarded Knoxville’s first official Poet Laureate by Mayor Madeline Rogero and the Arts and Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville. He was inducted into the East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame in 2009. He has been described as a “cross between a rural Tom Waits and an urban Woody Guthrie. His songs have been recorded by John Prine, Marianne Faithfull and others, and his “Zeke And The Wheel” album was nominated for Americana Album of the Year by the American Association of Independent Merchandisers.
