Once More at the River: From MLK to BLM

University of Memphis

The documentary and accompanying web site frame the sanitation workers' strike and King's assassination within the larger context of Memphis history and the struggle for civil rights through the voices of Memphians. The project paints a portrait of a city that suggests remarkable progress and unfinished agendas.  Oral history interviews with Memphians serve as the basis for the film.  Grant funds provide partial support for archival footage costs and closed-captioning.
