The Face of a President

The Face of a President is an exhibit showing how the advent of lithography and photography in early 19th Century America increased political awareness and created a closer connection between the people and their government.

The exhibit features original portraits of Polk, including paintings, lithorgraphs, and daguerreotypes as well as the innovative equipment that produced the images. It is on view from June, 2014 through January 11th, 2015 at the James K. Polk Home and Museum
