Becoming the Volunteer State: Tennessee in the War of 1812 is a statewide traveling exhibit coinciding with the bicentennial of the War of 1812. The exhibit explores this defining moment in American history be exploring the international political framework of the early 19th century, the impact on the fledgling American democracy, and Tennessee's role in this critical event. Initiated by the War of 1812 Commission, the exhibit will complement a range of additional programming planned across the state throughout 2012.
