East Nashville Hope Exchange presents "My Family, My Community, My World," a six-week summer program that provides books, guest readers, and city-wide field trips to 1-3 graders in the neighborhood. The programs ties events together with weekly themes based on children's literature and civics education.

Workshop strategies will focus on 4th, 5th, 8th, and high school American history curriculum standards that relate to the local and state stories, including focus on Tennessee's frontier, Civil War, industrialization and labor, and women's suffrage stories.

Our Muslim Neighbor Conference: The Power of Rhetoric & Imagery

This free event includes nationally renowned keynote speakers, breakout sessions hosted by local organizations, and a catered lunch.  Sessions highlight the conference theme through topics of civic engagement, media depiction, and race & Islamophobia.

Saturday, Sept. 24, 9:00am-4:30pm, Nashville Public Library, 615 Church Street.

Humanities Tennessee provides partial support for the conference, organized by the Faith & Culture Center.
