Salon@615 Welcomes Handler, Shannon in February

The Salon@615 series is pleased to welcome authors Samantha Shannon and Daniel Handler in February. The series is a partnership among Parnassus Books, Humanities Tennessee, Nashville Public Library, and Nashville Public Library foundation. 

Samantha Shannon is the bestselling author of The Bone Season, the first in a seven-book fantasy series that earned critical acclaim in her native England and around the world. She will be reading from and signing the second book in the series, The Mime Order, on Tuesday, February 10 at 6:15 pm at the Nashville Public Library (615 Church St). This is a free event, but please note that attendees must purchase a copy of The Mime Order from Parnassus Books in order to be part of the signing line. Advance tickets are not required, but guarantee auditorium seating, and may be reserved for a $2.50 handling fee two weeks before the event at ticketsnashville.com
 
The series is also proud to announce that acclaimed author Daniel Handler will offer a special Valentine’s Day event, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm. at the Nashville Public Library. Handler will read from and sign his new book, We Are Pirates, which has earned praise from writers as diverse as Neil Gaiman, Jennifer Egan, and Lorrie Moore. This is a free event, but please note that attendees must purchase a copy of We Are Pirates from Parnassus Books in order to be part of the signing line. Handler is the author of the novels The Basic Eight, Watch Your Mouth, Adverbs, and Why We Broke Up. As Lemony Snicket, he is responsible for many books for children, including the thirteen-volume sequence A Series of Unfortunate Events and the four-book series All The Wrong Questions.
